Maloghurst The Twisted — New Horus Heresy Stuff

New model you say? A new Horus Heresy model no less. hmmm, excited I am.

Maloghurst the twisted — political advisor to Horus. He who stuck with him to the end — through the heresy. Hated by Loken and the other good members of the legion, but not evil. And I think the model does a good job of Maloghurst, he looks like any member of the sons of Horus. But he is the twisted, so he is supporting himself with the eye of Horus. Even his power armour — Mark 4 I believe I think heresy pattern in Mark 5 — can’t support his twisted form. Of course he would still be a phenomenable warrior compared to the Imperial Guard. The only questionable decision is the tectonic platey looking head — with the really deep and straight scars. I don’t like it and would prefere them to look more organic and possibly less deep. Maybe they would look better painted in a red.

I do like the model but I’m more excited by the idea that this could become a regular series. Maybe we could even get more plastic Horus Heresy stuff, from GW rather than Forgeworld. I did buy Betrayal At Calth and loved that set, lets see some more please GW.

New Lord Kroak Model

New Slann — Lord Kroak. One of the most senior Slanns, I hope he doesn’t kroak. I’m not sure about this model the parts of the circle around the central Slaan. I assume these are needed to hold him up, but they look too close to Necron parts to Me.

The central model is cool, and I like the jungle growing through the model works. The pedestal he is sitting on has a perfect amount of ornamentation. But I can’t get away from those rings.

Wight Kings

These wight be good — sorry GW had puns I though I needed some aswell

Anyone up for some cool undead models? yep, me to. I do like the look of undead models, and these are very cool models. The wight king is a good mix of newer and clean like most Warhammer models but also old rusty chain mail and musty cloaks. As normal I’m pretty happy with the quality of the GW sculpting team, very rarely do they produce a bad model and most of the time it’s a model that is subjectively bad vs objectively bad. If there is such a thing as a n objectively bad model, I’m sure every model has someone that finds it beautiful. Beauty after all is in the eye of the beholder.

Black Library Humble Bundle

Need some more Black Library ebooks, maybe not but here’s a cheap bundle. Worth a look in my opinion.

Guards! Guards! Guards?- Northumbria Tin Soldier

Honk Honk goes Norbert Billington The Goose

Any guesses as to where Northumbrian Tin Soldier are from? Congrats its Sweden — I mean Northumbria.

They appear to have taken some naming inspiration from Terry Pratchett’s (GNU Terry Pratchett) Guards! Guards! book. Even the big guy look a bit like detritus — although not adequately Trolly. Comedically the leaders are actually the geese. And all over this is a pretty cool set, the guards look a bit like Romans.

Dark Age Saxon and Norman Armies — Kickstarter

More cool looking Medieval (I think it counts as early medieval), worth a look if you are interested. But I don’t think i need anymore kickstarters right now — but then maybe I do.

Peculiar Companions Holy Roman Empire STL — Kickstarter

Now these might be STL files but those of you with a 3D printer may be interested. These could work for the Warhammer Fantasy Empire, that is reasonably expected given the fact that the Empire itself was based on the HRE. For $30 these may be worth it — I can’t really comment as I’ve never 3D printed anything. But these painted ones look pretty good.

Arms Length Painting

Painting models so they look decent at arms length — I do what I say on the tin, at least I would if I lived in a tin.
